Indesign Boosts Prototyping Capabilities with Purchase of New Fox 2

At Indesign, LLC we pride ourselves on delivering engineering excellence in every project. As part of our commitment to staying ahead of the curve, we are excited to announce the arrival of the Essemtec Fox 2, a state-of-the-art pick and place machine that will be integrated into our prototyping process by the end of October. This new equipment will help us deliver more precise, reliable, and efficient services and reinforces our commitment to quality.

What is the Fox 2?

The Essemtec Fox 2 is an advanced pick and place machine designed to handle complex surface-mount technology (SMT) assembly tasks. With two heads, it is rated at a speed of up to 12,000 components per hour (cph), making it one of the most efficient machines in its class. It boasts an impressive feeder capacity, with up to 180, 8mm feeder slots, allowing it to handle a wide range of components in a single assembly run.

In practical terms, a pick and place machine automates the assembly of printed circuit boards (PCBs) by picking components from feeders and accurately placing them onto the boards. This automation speeds up prototyping, ensures consistency, and allows for greater precision in assembling intricate electronic designs.

How Does This Benefit Indesign?

With its advanced technology, this machine will offer unmatched reliability in assembly production. As we continue to take on complex projects, having a machine that consistently delivers high-quality results is crucial. This enhanced reliability reduces errors and increases yields, leading to greater operational efficiency.

Increased accuracy is paramount in electronics design. Its dual-head design and precise placement capabilities allow us to work with components that demand tight tolerances. Whether it’s producing intricate designs or complex assemblies, this machine guarantees that every component is placed with precision.

As electronic designs shrink and demand more compact solutions, the machine’s ability to handle smaller components, down to 01005 and with parts as tight as 0.3mm pitch, we can now accommodate even more intricate and compact designs. This positions Indesign to meet the evolving needs of the industry. This capability allows us to work on projects that require miniature, high-density assemblies, making us more adaptable to the demands of modern technology.

How Does This Benefit Our Client?

Improved Product Quality

Precision and accuracy are key to the success of any electronics project. This new technology enables us to produce assemblies with tighter tolerances and fewer errors, resulting in higher-quality products for our clients. Whether it’s reducing the risk of defects or improving the overall reliability of a product, this machine enhances our ability to deliver top-notch results.

Greater Project Flexibility

The capability to handle smaller components and tighter pitch parts means that we can take on a wider variety of projects. Clients with unique or complex requirements will benefit from our expanded capacity to handle challenging designs, making Indesign the go-to partner for innovation-driven projects.

A Step Toward the Future

At Indesign, adding new equipment like the Essemtec Fox 2 is a testament to our commitment to delivering engineering excellence. This powerful tool will help us fulfill that promise— with precision, flexibility and consistency. We look forward to leveraging this new capability to better serve our clients.
