Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our small, dynamic engineering firm specializing in cutting-edge technology solutions. In this role, you will manage daily financial operations, including bookkeeping, budgeting, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. You will work closely with leadership to ensure financial accuracy and deliver insights that drive strategic growth. Responsibilities include:
- Record and maintain all financial transactions (AP, AR, payroll, general ledger)
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Monitor cash flow and assist with budgeting and forecasting
- Reconcile bank statements and company accounts
- Monthly use tax and excise tax processing
- Support audits and financial reviews
- Work with Accounts Payable Specialist and V.P. of Finance
- Collaborate with Project Managers to process WIP
- Prepare client invoicing
- Project ID maintenance
- Supplier invoice/purchase order reconciliation
- Interface with clients and external accounting teams
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Prepare and file tax returns and liaise with external tax preparers
- Accounting of owner capital accounts
- Depreciation schedule maintenance
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies
- Recommend ways to reduce costs and improve financial performance
MUST be able to meet the following requirements:
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong understanding of GAAP and small business tax regulations
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality of financial and personnel information
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, vendors, co-workers and managers
- Conduct work in a professional and ethical manner
- Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
DESIREABLE to meet the following requirements:
- 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
- Proficiency in Sage, Unanet, and eRequester business tools
- Experience working in a small business setting
