How long does a project take to complete?

Depending on the complexity of the product being designed, a typical project can last anywhere from three to nine months.

Who owns the design?

Our clients own the Intellectual Property (IP) upon completion of the project.

How soon can you start on my project?

Once an agreed-upon Statement of Work is signed, we can typically start the project within a matter of days.

How much does it cost to develop a product?

It depends. All custom product development projects are unique. Indesign will work with you to understand the requirements in order to provide budget estimates in our proposal.

Can you build a prototype for me?

Yes, building a number of prototypes is typically part of the design process. We have the ability to assemble printed circuit boards in-house. Also, Indesign will have mechanical parts fabricated to verify the design.

Can you manufacture my product?

Although Indesign is not a manufacturer, we can support you in finding a suitable manufacturer in the event you do not yet have a relationship with one. Indesign engineers are very familiar with a wide range of manufacturing processes, working with factories throughout the world. We will provide support as needed to ensure a smooth transition from the design phase to factory production.

Do you outsource any of your services?

No, we do not. Our engineering staff that resides in a single location in Indianapolis, Indiana will be working on your project.

Are you willing to sign an NDA?

Yes. Indesign has confidentiality agreements in place with most of our clients. We offer a simple mutual NDA, or our clients can have their NDA’s put in place.

What do you need to develop a proposal?

Ideally, we like to see a requirements document. Indesign’s project team will work closely with you to review and understand the requirements to generate an acceptable Statement of Work.

What CAD tools do you use?

We have experience with various PCB CAD systems with our primary tools being Cadence Allegro and Altium. Indesign mechanical engineers have extensive experience with 3D mechanical part design, modeling, and assembly creation using Creo/Pro E and SOLIDWORKS as our primary CAD tools.
