Project Management
Keep Complex Projects on Track
Product development projects fail for predictable reasons: unclear requirements, unmanaged scope changes, missed dependencies, resource conflicts, gaps in documentation or communication, and technical risks that aren’t identified early enough. Our technical project managers have the experience of recognizing these issues before they derail schedules, and they understand the engineering well enough to know when something sounds simple on paper but isn’t in practice.

What We Manage
Schedule development and tracking
Detailed project plans with task dependencies, resource allocation, and milestone dates. We monitor progress weekly and proactively revise plans when new information or real‑world conditions require it.
Budget management
We continuously monitor spending against the budget, offering clear visibility into where funds are going and early signals when costs are trending out of bounds so you can make informed decisions and adjustments can be made before issues escalate.
Team coordination
Full turnkey projects involve electrical, firmware, mechanical, and test engineers, all working on interdependent tasks. Our project managers coordinate across disciplines, manage handoffs, and ensure everyone has what they need when they need it.
Risk management
Identifying technical risks, supply chain challenges, schedule risks, and developing mitigation strategies before they become problems. Some risks can be avoided entirely with early action; others require contingency plans.
Communication and reporting
Regular status reports, design review coordination, and clear communication with your team. You’ll know where the project stands, what issues have come up, and what decisions need to be made.
Our Approach
Technical project management
Our PMs understand the engineering behind new product development. When timelines are proposed, they ask the right questions to ensure critical technical considerations are fully accounted for.
ISO-certified processes
We follow our ISO 9001:2015 quality management system, which means consistent project execution, documented procedures, and traceability from requirements through verification. This matters especially for medical device projects and other regulated products.
Flexible methodology
We adapt our approach to your project’s needs. Some projects benefit from formal phase reviews and gate criteria; others need a more agile approach with rapid iteration. We’ve done both and know when each works best.
Resource management
With all engineers under one roof, resources can be coordinated in real time. Our PMs work hand‑in‑hand with the team to align capacity, assign the right people, manage priorities, and keep critical work progressing smoothly.
Design Reviews and Coordination
Formal design reviews at key milestones ensure everyone agrees on requirements, architecture, detailed design, and test results before moving forward. Our PMs coordinate these reviews, document decisions and action items, and track resolution of issues raised during reviews.
We maintain relationships with external partners—PCB fabricators, contract manufacturers, compliance test labs, industrial designers—and coordinate their involvement at the right points in the project.
Why Project Management Matters
Project management is integral to how we work at Indesign. As an ISO 9001:2015 certified company, we adhere to disciplined business practices that ensure resources are managed effectively and communication remains clear across clients, internal teams, and suppliers. Our project managers provide a single point of accountability, removing roadblocks that could impact commitments and ensuring issues are resolved quickly.
Excellent project management keeps all teams moving forward together. When PCB layout progresses faster than expected, we advance mechanical design in parallel. When obstacles arise, we identify dependencies, adjust plans, and keep schedules on track. Time and again, the difference between projects delivered on time and on budget comes down to project management.
